Accepts: image/webp, .webp · Max 1GB · always free

We try this conversion in your browser first. If it cannot run locally, the file is uploaded for server conversion.

Choose your .WEBP file to convert it to JPG.

See what happens to a transparent WebP

Convert the sample below to JPG. Its transparent corners become white because JPG cannot store transparency. Compare that with the PNG version when choosing a format.

  1. The JPG should open as an ordinary still image.
  2. The background should be white and the dimensions should stay 640 × 400.
  3. If you need a transparent logo, convert the same sample to PNG instead.

About WEBP to JPG

Content reviewed:

Use JPG for photos and ordinary attachments

If the destination accepts JPEG but rejects WebP, changing the image’s actual format can solve the compatibility problem. Download the converted file and select that new .jpg in the destination app. Changing the filename alone is not enough.

A white background is intentional

JPG does not support transparent pixels. In the browser conversion, FluidConvert places the image on white before encoding the JPG. If your logo or cutout needs a transparent background, use WebP to PNG instead.

JPG quality and image size

JPG uses lossy compression. Conversion can introduce small changes around fine text, edges, or gradients, and the result can be larger than the source WebP. Keep the original and check the result at the size you plan to use. Multiple files mode includes a JPG quality slider from 25% to 100%, starting at 92%. Lower quality may reduce file size but is not a fixed size target.

Browser processing with a fallback

One file mode first tries your browser and may fall back to server processing; the result indicates local processing. Multiple files mode runs entirely on your device and reports files it cannot convert instead of uploading them.

Common reasons to convert .WEBP file to JPG

  • Attaching a website image to an email
  • Submitting a picture to a form that accepts JPG but not WebP
  • Creating an opaque JPG copy of a transparent graphic

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did my transparent background turn white?

JPEG cannot store transparency. The browser converter fills transparent areas with white. Choose PNG instead if you need transparency.

Does this work for a WebP saved from a website?

Yes, for supported WebP images. Select the downloaded file, convert it, and download the JPG. This tool does not fetch pictures from a web address.

Will a JPG always be smaller?

No. WebP can be more compact than JPG. If the destination has a size limit, check the downloaded JPG and compress or resize it if necessary.

Can I convert several WebP files together?

Yes. Choose Multiple files, then select up to 20 images from your folder. Each must be 20 MB or smaller and no more than 25 megapixels, with 100 MB total input. Convert and prepare a ZIP of the successful results. Folder selection itself is not supported.

Does conversion recover quality lost in the original?

No. The output is made from the pixels the WebP already contains. Converting to JPG cannot restore missing detail.

Can I download converted JPG images together?

Yes. In Multiple files mode, convert your selected images, choose Prepare ZIP, then Download ZIP. Only successful conversions are included. Images keep separate filenames; duplicates receive a numbered suffix inside the ZIP. You can also download each image individually.
