SVG to DXF
Convert plain SVG vector outlines to DXF polylines. Set artboard width in millimeters, preview outlines and download a CAD-friendly file.
Vector outlines · Millimeters · Local conversion
Convert plain SVG paths and basic shapes to DXF polylines. Curves are approximated with short segments at 0.1 mm tolerance. Text, embedded images, clipping, effects and referenced objects must be converted to plain paths first.
Choose your .SVG file and we'll convert it to .DXF format — fast, free, and secure.
Fast & Free
Local vector conversion for plain SVG files up to 2 MB.
Secure
Uploads use TLS encryption. Supported image conversions can run in your browser.
Check Your Result
Quality, transparency, and supported features depend on the output format. Keep your original file.

About SVG to DXF
Content reviewed:
Vector geometry for CAD and cutting
Paths, circles, ellipses, rectangles, lines, polygons and polylines become DXF LWPOLYLINE entities. Curves are approximated with short segments at 0.1 mm tolerance. Open and closed contours stay separate. Strokes become centerlines; fills, colors and line widths are not exported.
Set physical size deliberately
Enter the artboard width in millimeters. The SVG viewBox defines its proportions and the selected width replaces the original physical size. Check dimensions and outlines in your CAD or cutting application before production.
Prepare a plain SVG
Files up to 2 MB are processed locally. Convert text, rounded rectangles and referenced objects to paths before export. Embedded raster images, clipping, masks, effects, stylesheets and nested SVG documents are rejected instead of being silently omitted.
Common reasons to convert SVG to DXF
- Moving simple logo outlines into CAD
- Preparing vector geometry for cutting software
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it convert a bitmap into vectors?
No. The input needs actual SVG vector outlines. An SVG containing a photograph is not a vector outline and cannot be converted by this tool.
Which DXF format is exported?
ASCII DXF with R2000 lightweight polylines and millimeter units. Check compatibility in your destination application; it does not produce a filled engraving or machine toolpath.
