About PDF Splitter
Why split PDFs?
Large PDFs often contain more than you need. A 200-page report might have only 3 relevant pages for your presentation. A scanned document package might need individual pages extracted for different departments. Legal documents, textbook chapters, multi-section reports, and image-heavy PDFs all frequently need splitting. Emailing a 50-page PDF when someone only needs page 12 wastes bandwidth and their time.
How PDF splitting works
PDF splitting extracts specified pages from a document and saves them as new, independent PDF files. You can extract a single page, a range (pages 5-10), or split the entire document into individual pages. Each extracted page retains its original formatting, fonts, images, and quality — splitting is a non-destructive operation that doesn't re-render or compress content.
How FluidConvert handles it
Upload your PDF, select the pages or ranges you want to extract, and download the result. Our servers process the split server-side, preserving all formatting and quality. Files are encrypted and auto-deleted. Free for PDFs up to 100MB.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does splitting a PDF reduce quality?
No. Splitting extracts pages exactly as they are — fonts, images, vectors, and formatting are preserved pixel-for-pixel. No re-rendering or re-compression occurs. The extracted pages are identical in quality to the pages in the original PDF.
Can I extract non-consecutive pages (e.g., pages 1, 5, and 12)?
Yes. You can specify individual pages, ranges, or combinations. For example, '1, 5, 12' extracts those three pages into one PDF, or '1-3, 7-10' extracts two ranges into one file.
Will bookmarks and hyperlinks be preserved?
Internal hyperlinks that point to pages within the extracted range are preserved. Links pointing to pages not included in the extraction will become non-functional. Document-level bookmarks may be adjusted or removed depending on which pages are extracted.
Can I split a PDF into individual pages?
Yes. You can split a 20-page PDF into 20 individual single-page PDFs, or extract specific pages into groups. This is useful for distributing individual pages to different people or departments.
