About Rotate PDF
Why rotate a PDF?
Scanners and phone cameras often capture pages in the wrong orientation, and some PDFs arrive rotated so text runs sideways on screen. Rotating the pages fixes the reading direction permanently, so the document displays and prints correctly everywhere instead of forcing every reader to tilt their head or rotate the view by hand.
How it works
The tool reads your PDF's existing page rotation and adds your chosen angle to each page, then writes a new PDF with the corrected orientation baked in. Because it only changes the rotation metadata and re-saves, the text stays selectable and the quality is untouched — nothing is re-rendered or compressed.
Private by design
Your PDF is processed locally in your browser using JavaScript. It's never uploaded to a server, so even sensitive contracts, medical records, or financial statements stay entirely on your device.
Common uses for Rotate PDF
- Fixing a contract that was scanned sideways so it reads upright
- Correcting phone-photographed document pages before emailing them
- Turning a landscape-scanned page back to portrait
- Rotating an upside-down PDF someone sent you
Frequently Asked Questions
Does rotating reduce quality?
No. Rotation changes only the page orientation metadata and re-saves the file. Text remains selectable and images are untouched — there's no re-compression or quality loss.
Can I rotate just one page?
This tool rotates every page by the same angle, which fixes the most common case (a whole document scanned sideways). To keep only certain pages, use the Extract Pages tool first.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser. Your PDF never leaves your device, which makes this safe for confidential documents.
What angles can I use?
90° (quarter turn clockwise), 180° (upside-down), or 270° (quarter turn counter-clockwise). Applying 90° twice is the same as 180°.
